How are the bathroom pods protected during delivery?
A leading advantage of using SurePods is that they are built in a strict, quality-controlled factory setting, with protection from the elements. But how exactly is their superior quality preserved during transport? Once the pods are manufactured, they are wrapped in waterproof and weatherproof packaging and delivered to the jobsite when the building is being erected. From manufacturing to delivery, we stand behind our surety of quality, providing a 5-year structural warranty, a 1-year workmanship warranty and a 5-year no crack ceiling.
How many pods can be delivered to the jobsite at one time?
30+ pods can be delivered and installed in a shift.
When should prefab bathroom pods be delivered to the jobsite?
While the building façade is still open.
Will I need to top-load or side-load the pods?
Either way, we do both.
Do you have to step up into the pod once it is complete?
What does the floor transition look like with pods?
SurePods continues to pioneer the use of ultra-thin floor substrates. Reduced pod floor thickness can have significant cost benefits by reducing and often eliminating the need for added buildup of the floor outside the pod. Acceptable door thresholds can be achieved using a special beveled threshold with a 2:1 slope as shown below, in combination with smart choices of flooring materials inside and outside the modular units. Selection of non-brittle flooring materials such as LVT, engineered flooring and fluid applied finishes can allow for an overall reduction in the required pod subfloor. This will ultimately benefit the floor transition. Project conditions will vary, and the exact threshold detail will be determined in the pre-construction planning phase.
What is the installation process like?
Step 1: Pods are loaded into the center of each room fully wrapped and elevated until the building is dry
Step 2: 3D Revit models and full-size templates are used to coordinate the floor penetrations
Step 3: Fire-rated walls and waste stacks are pre-installed before pods are set into position
Step 4: Thin set is troweled on the whole area of where the pod will sit
Step 5: Pod is unwrapped and inspected before being pushed into final position
Step 6: Pod water supply manifolds and electrical whips are connected
Step 7: Toilet, shower and lavatory drainage connections are completed and tested
Step 8: Pod is framed in and drywall is hung on exposed pod walls to finish guestroom corner
Step 9: Specially beveled pod entry door threshold is fit and installed
Where do inspections take place?
Pods are an open system. They can be inpected on-site or in our plant.
How does SurePods help with the Punch List?

How many labor hours go into a pod?
Roughly about 100-150 hours depending on the complexity of the pod.
Is a depressed slab needed?
For the majority of Hospitality and Residential projects, the answer is no.Healthcare: Yes, to accommodate sloped floor.
How do pods resist weather while on-site before dry in?
SurePods are wrapped, sealed with weatherproofing and elevated on a pallet to withstand the elements that surround them before dry in.
How long does it take to build a pod?
Depends on the job, between 5-10 business days once we are into production.
Do you ship pods outside of the US?
Canadian shipping is eligible. Other international shipping is possible under certain conditions; please contact us to discuss your specific project.
What is the cost comparison between a pod and a traditionally manufactered bathroom?
Higher Cost Construction Markets: Very cost effective across the board.

Has SurePods been under any other name?
Yes, SurePods started in 2004 under the name Eggrock. We have also been known as Oldcastle Modular and Oldcastle SurePods. Today, our name is simply SurePods.
What type of building materials work with pods?
Almost all. Steel, wood and concrete.
